The video “Face Swap (present)” has been filmed recently in Bluffdale, Utah, US, precisely in front of the NSA Data Center. Since Edward Snowden's breakdown leaks about USA mass surveillance, this center is supposed to store information about people without their consent. The video, which is more likely a living picture, refers to recent application on smartphones that can permute two people’s faces. Here, the face ends being trapped in the screen, while the face becomes a dark hole. This work talks about online identity and the confusion between the machine-object and the human being.

Realized with the assistance of Dash and Hunter Longe.

Location: Chipot
